This report The Role of NGOs in Basic and Primary Education in Pakistan is based on primary research conducted by the NGO Pulse, one of the eight key components of the LUMS-McGill CIDA Project.
As part of the NGO Pulse Series initiative, grounded research on key social sector areas was conducted. Through written articles and in-depth research in the Health, Education, Microfinance and Gender sectors of Pakistan, key social issues, and NGO activity has also been highlighted. In addition this research has consolidated and provided information and knowledge on the thematic priority areas of SEDC. This research report uses multiple methods of data collection, including surveys, in-depth interviews, and a stakeholder’s workshop, to provide insights into the structure and functions of NGOs involved in education sector of Pakistan, and the role they are playing or need to be played in this important area.
