LUMS was proud to host the Welcome Dinner for the 6th Deans and Directors Conference of the Higher Education Commission National Business Education Accreditation Council (HEC NBEAC) on Sunday, 7 April, 2019 at the Library Lawn in LUMS.
Held to celebrate the evolving landscape of business education in Pakistan and across the globe, the dinner played host to a variety of guests from members of the business education landscape in Pakistan participating in the conference, to key members of the LUMS community including the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arshad Ahmad, members of the Management Committee, Mr. Shahid Hussain, Mr. Osman Khalid Waheed, and Dr. Parvez Hassan, senior faculty and staff including the likes of Dr. Syed Zahoor Hassan, Professor SDSB, and Director Advancement, Nuzhat Kamran, and valued alumni from the business school.
The event was also an opportunity to pay tribute to our patron Syed Babar Ali and acknowledge his contributions in elevating the standard of business and management education in the country. As the chief guest of the evening, Syed Babar Ali’s founding vision for LUMS and his countless achievements were celebrated as multiple speakers including the likes of Chairman NBEAC, Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, LUMS Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arshad Ahmad, and alumnus, Saulat Salahuddin (MBA 1990) took to the stage and honoured him.
In his tribute, Dr. Ahmad expressed gratitude to Syed Babar Ali and said, “On behalf of the LUMS community I would like to thank Babar Sahib for his invaluable contribution to Pakistan in the form of LUMS and hope that we’ll continue to benefit from his guidance and wisdom in the years to come.”
The evening was an entertaining one as the attendees also enjoyed a delicious dinner in the open air followed by a wonderful music performance by the popular artist, Nabeel Shaukat.
