A five-member delegation from the Civil Services Academy (CSA), Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) visited LUMS on April 9, 2019 and were welcomed by Dr. Zehra Waheed, Assistant Professor, Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) and other professors. The CSA-PAS visit was arranged by SDSB’s Centre for Business and Society (CBS).
In line with SDSB’s mission to 'Impact the practice of management' and CBS’ mandate of impacting policymaking by fostering innovative channels of knowledge exchange, CBS and CSA-PAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the revision and redesigning of the Public Administration and Management course for the Specialised Training Programme of the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS).
The delegation was highly enthusiastic regarding the promotion of knowledge sharing between the LUMS faculty and the Civil Services Academy. Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, Dean SDSB and Vice Chancellor LUMS, Dr. Arshad Ahmad expressed gratitude to the delegation and were hopeful that this MoU would bring about a new phase of theory-meets-practice and would lead to administrative efficiency in the public sector.
The delegation from the CSA-PAS included Mr. Suhail Aamir, Director General CSA; Mr. Zulfiqar Younas, Director Common Training Programmes; Mr. Sucrat Aman Rana, Director PAS; Mr. Muhammad Asim, Chief Instructor and Mr. Rehmat Wali Khan, Deputy Director PAS.
The MoU signing ceremony marked the beginning of a first-of-its-kind collaboration between CBS-SDSB and CSA-PAS.
